I stood for a long time before your scale this morning. Reading the words I remember you writing so long ago. Half of me grieved deeply when I realized how long this has really been for us, how long we have been held captive by this fluctuating calculation of ounces and pounds. But the other half of me wanted desperately to step on, to start the battle again—part of me still believing that this time I could win. But there are no winners in that game Katie. And you have too much to lose to continue to play. One day Katie, we`ll throw out the scale.
